Pulp Nonfiction Endo Study Club: Antibiotic Stewardship

Antibiotic Stewardship in the Management of Endodontic Infections

Antibiotics are incredibly useful tools in the management of endodontic infections. That said, their overuse and misuse in dentistry and beyond have caused a dramatic increase in the rates of antibiotic resistance. Once manageable infections, in some cases, have been rendered untreatable. This presentation will not only introduce how endodontic infections are diagnosed, but will more importantly examine situations that may benefit from antibiotic therapy and those where antibiotics may not be necessary. Additionally, antibiotic premedication strategies will be reviewed. Employing these evidence-based strategies will preserve the utility of these life saving drugs for years, and patients, to come.

The course will be presented virtually on Thursday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. Register at Eventbrite . Please include your AGD number, if appropriate.
